In less than 24 hours, the Operation Elevation Rapid Response Team has mobilized in response to the devastation caused by a dozen tornadoes that ripped through the Dallas-Fort Worth area on April 3, 2012. An estimated 650 homes were damaged, leaving many uninhabitable. The greatest concentration of damage was in the suburbs of Arlington, Lancaster, and Forney. Approximately 150 people sought help in shelters overnight. In addition to the tornadoes, the storm produced golf ball size hail that grounded over 400 flights at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
The Operation Elevation Rapid Response Advance Team is in communication with local emergency management officials to coordinate relief support efforts, which include providing supplies, water, and teams of servant leaders to assist in clean-up efforts.
