Joel Osteen knows a thing or two about big churches (his being the country’s largest), and this weekend, he helped a fellow Texas megachurch pastor dedicate a new, nearly ten-story church building in the Dallas area last weekend.
Osteen, of Lakewood Church in Houston, spoke at celebrations for the opening of the Cathedral of Frisco, a new, gothic-style building that’s part of Elevate Life Church, according to news reports.
The nondenominational mega-church, led by Pastors Keith and Sheila Craft, has a weekly attendance of about 7,000.
Even without factoring tech costs, the congregation spent more than $23 million on this addition, the Dallas Morning-News reported. The building is 100,000 square feet, with giant chandeliers and extensive A/V equipment.
